Review: AceJet Maximus
Like the Bowie Spinner, the Maximus is also an excellently proportioned piece of sporting equipment, designed especially for advanced and professional competition and tournament throwers. The blade of this model is dagger-shaped and symmetrical, likewise featuring a spinning ring as a visual highlight at the blade’s center of gravity.
The handle is significantly slimmer than that of most throwing knife models, though one quickly becomes accustomed to this design. The knife is made of high-quality spring steel and offers ideal dimensions and sufficient mass for controlled and successful rotational throws from the standard distances used in sport knife throwing. It is extremely comfortable to throw by the blade tip—almost even more so than by the handle.
As with the previous model, the leather washers on the handle sides could be somewhat thicker and more robust, but aside from that, this is an excellent throwing knife.
Important note for tournaments in Switzerland: Symmetrical throwing knives such as this model are currently prohibited and may only be imported with special official authorization.
Overall score: 9.5 out of 10 points.
